Camp Homewood |
This summer my husband and I felt inspired to move to Quadra Island to serve at Camp Homewood. So I resigned from my job, we put our stuff in storage and said yes to life by the ocean for two months (which was pretty fantastic). While I was there I remembered what it was like to rest and that I enjoy people. I also felt inspired, gained confidence, and rediscovered some of the things I am passionate about.
Just over a year ago I discovered that dairy, wheat, beef and sugar were making me feel crummy. So I began life dairy, wheat, beef and sugar free. Not only did I lose a bunch of weight and started to feel better, but I had to re-learn to eat and cook. While at Camp Homewood I was given freedom to bake. Being an introvert of sorts, I found the kitchen to be my place of refreshment and excitement. I also got to learn from great cooks and try new things- allergy friendly things. This sparked something.
Near the end of our two months on Quadra I really wanted to make something- I wanted driftwood. I didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I wanted it. And then I discovered Pinterest. The spark I felt in the kitchen continued to grow as I saw all of the possibilities of things I could do and dream up.
I typed in 'driftwood' to see what I could make. Well I made something....
And this is what I came up with... I will share the how-to in a future post |
One of the things I am passionate about is sharing my life with others with the goal of bringing some joy or relief to their life through what I have learned. This blog will mostly be about my craft, food, and home discoveries- but you never know what I will be inspired to share. I believe that things happen in our life not to be kept hidden, but most can be used to encourage others.
So thus, I started a blog. I don't really know who will read it, if anyone, but as I am inspired, I want to share it with others who need a little inspiration.
May you be inspired to do something that makes you feel rested today.
